A Métis-led space for individuals preparing for or transitioning out of addiction treatment.
We offer short-term residential care that meets people where they are—whether they’re getting ready to begin a recovery program or finding their footing after completing one.
At New Beginnings, each stay is an invitation to reconnect—with yourself, with community, and with the cultural roots that sustain healing.
Created in partnership between the Métis Nation of Alberta and ROSC Solutions Group, New Beginnings is built on trust, belonging, and the belief that healing is strongest when it’s grounded in culture and community.
New Beginnings is opening its doors in two phases. Our first phase is now open, offering both pre-treatment and post-treatment residential support—each designed to support reconnection at every stage of recovery.
Clients are supported with daily structure, connection to Métis teachings, and encouragement from staff and peers who understand the journey—and who walk alongside each person as they reconnect with what matters most.
A place to stay safe, connected, and supported while preparing for treatment.
A calm and steady environment to regain rhythm, build life skills, and stay rooted in recovery and community.
Our work is guided by Métis values: kinship, respect, balance, and self-determination. From community meals to time with Elders, healing here includes the whole person—mind, body, spirit, and identity.
Reconnection is woven through it all: with cultural teachings, with others on the path, and with the self.
Whether you're preparing for treatment or moving forward after it, New Beginnings is here to walk alongside you and help you reconnect to strength, purpose, and belonging.
New Beginnings is a short-term residential program created to support individuals before and after addiction treatment.
Led by the Métis Nation of Alberta, New Beginnings reflects the values, traditions, and strength of Métis communities.
This space was created in direct response to what people asked for: a way to stay grounded before treatment, and a way to keep healing going after.
People need a safe, stable place to begin or continue their journey—with support that understands where they’re coming from and honours who they are.
New Beginnings exists to meet that need—and to offer a space where reconnection is possible at every step.
At New Beginnings, recovery is more than just treatment. It’s about reconnection—to identity, to community, to culture, and to what matters most.
Our approach reflects the values that guide Métis life:
Healing happens in relationship, not isolation.
Everyone's path is honoured.
People are experts in their journey.
We care for mind, body, spirit, and community together.
They shape the rhythm of each day—from how we hold space and gather, to how we teach, listen, and walk forward together.
When healing is grounded in culture and community, it creates stronger individuals, families, and futures.
Here, reconnection isn’t just a goal—it’s the path forward.
New Beginnings is guided by the Métis Nation of Alberta and developed in collaboration with ROSC Solutions Group, an organization that supports recovery-focused programs across Canada.
ROSC brings operational and technical experience to help ensure the day-to-day program reflects the broader vision set by the Métis Nation.
Together, this partnership is helping to build something meaningful, sustainable, and deeply grounded in Métis ways of knowing—and in the power of reconnection.
